Planning photo shoot

The photo shoot will be about a famous DJ because it links with my magazines genre. I am going to plan a medium close up of young teenager aged 16-24 using some DJ equipment or wearing DJ equipment. The place will be a coloured background room, easy place to take a clear shot. I will get the model to pose very wild to show his mad clubbing attitude to the audience.

My second idea is to get a group of young teenagers banging their heads to loud music. The setting of the photo shoot will be in a room with big speakers. The young teenagers will pose all happy and wild while listening to the music. Another pose I would like the teenagers to do is standing in a group dressed in DJ equipment to show there band. I will get them to show a serious attitude when establishing the camera shot. I will use a long shot of all the band members/DJ group posing with their arms crossed looking towards the camera.

An example of a photo shot I want similar to mine is of the Swedish house mafia. I like how all the members have a laid back attitude towards the camera. I like the use of black and white to make it look more modern. The gear that the Swedish house mafia are using is what I want to use in my photo shoot, to make the teenagers look stylish and cool.

My music magazine is about bringing amazing gossip, news and reviews on the latest DJs in the clubs. The magazine will appeal to the audience subjected to such genres like electronic, dubstep, drum and bass and much more. The magazine is for young party animals around the world. This magazine has the atest gossip on all the new music, gigs and interviews with amazing DJs. The USP of my magazine is the use of colours, imagery and camera shots to make the magazine look eye dazzling.

flat plan and photo shoot ideas

This photo shoot idea would be a DJ with a medium close up shot of him playing with some dj decks. The decks will be small and compatible to use in the photo shoot. The Dj will be dressed up in DJ outfit or fashionable clothes.
This photo shoot idea is of a DJ standing to the left of the front cover, leaving room for all the cover headlines and features. The masthead will be small enough to fit at the side.
This is a flat plan of my DPS. I will use two pull quotes on each page and have one page image lead. I will use a stand first linked to the image, introducing the interview. The colours will be a huge variety to attract the younger audience.

The contents page has two sections to it. the first section has all the features and headliners on the left. Then there is pictures on the right tilted horizontly to make it look more stylish. At the bottom of the contents is a subscription box with an added picture. The colours will be eye catching and the fonts will also be in different sizes and colours.

The front cover is mainly image lead with a DJ on the front posistioned left. The cover will have a all the headlines at the left of the magazine easily spread, coloured and large font sizes. The target audience is for clubbers so the headlines will be about that topic. There will also be small text saying win prizes to catch attention to the readers.

moodboard

My moodboard is mainly inspired by the magazine Mix mags choice of layout. I like the colourful writing, large fonts and great photo shots of DJs. I have chosen mixmag layouts is becasue my magazine has the same target audience. I like the use of different variety of colours to make it stand out.

NME has amazing photo shoots that are clear and well positioned. The group shots of NME are amazingly organised. The photoshoots are more clearer than Mix Mag photoshoots.

Masthead designs

Masthead names and designs

I like the first Masthead becasue it is funky and stand outs withe the different colours. The name inspired me from vinyls on a record, which is suited to my target audience, clubbers. The second design is simple and more retro for the younger audience. I didnt add colours to make it more professional.

Wired up is associated with the DJ technology. The first design i have done uses colours that are more masculine, relevant to army colours. The second design has a techno theme to it however it is also simple and has no colours.

Decks name is linked to what DJs use in clubs/raves. The first design is eye appealing, with a techno style font. The second design is simple with different colours to make it look appealing to a younger audience.
